Movement-first competitive 2D platformer Sprint City has been announced for PC via Steam, with an Early Access release planned for 2026. The game is developed by Netherlands-based Second Stage Studio, founded by SpeedRunners designer Casper van Est.

Designed around speed, flow, and mastery, Sprint City drops players into a vibrant solarpunk city where on-foot movement is the core of the experience. Wheels do not exist in this world, and traversal is entirely built around sprinting, jumping, wall-running, grappling, and chaining momentum-driven parkour moves. The focus is firmly on how movement feels, rewarding players who master rhythm, timing, and route optimization.
The game takes place in a single shared world that seamlessly connects nearby players, allowing races, free-roaming, and time-based challenges to unfold naturally across the city. Friends can stay linked together while exploring, and game owners can invite others to join instantly through browser-based play, letting guests jump in for free without owning the game. This approach emphasizes accessibility while keeping competition at the forefront.
Open districts are packed with rooftops, shortcuts, and hidden routes, encouraging experimentation and mastery of the environment. Players can challenge others to climb leaderboards, refine their lines through the city, and personalize their character with unlockable gear between runs. A high-energy original soundtrack underpins the experience, reinforcing the sense of speed and flow that defines Sprint City.
