Survival action shooter Terminator: Survivors has been delayed beyond its previously announced 2025 release window, publisher NACON and developer NACON Studio Milan have confirmed. The game is currently planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with a new release date to be announced at a later time.

In an open letter to fans, creative director Marco Ponte explained that the team has spent the past year making substantial progress across world design, combat systems, narrative depth, and overall atmosphere. The studio’s core ambition remains unchanged: delivering an authentic open-world Terminator experience that captures the fear, desperation, and brutality of humanity’s early resistance against Skynet following Judgment Day.
Players will explore a bleak wasteland where every encounter is lethal, from Skynet’s earliest machine prototypes to the unmistakable glow of a T-800’s red eyes in the distance. According to Ponte, the game is designed to be more than a traditional shooter, emphasizing survival, exploration, and the fragile beginnings of the human resistance as civilization collapses.
Following internal testing and extensive discussions with players and fans of the franchise, NACON Studio Milan has made the decision to remove cooperative multiplayer from the project. The studio believes that focusing entirely on a single-player experience is essential to achieving the best possible shooting and exploration gameplay, and to maintaining a cohesive, uncompromised vision of the world after Judgment Day.
In addition, the developer confirmed that Terminator: Survivors will no longer launch as an Early Access title. Instead, the team aims to ensure that players’ first journey into the wasteland is a complete and polished premium experience. As a result of these changes, the game will not release in 2025, and no new launch window has yet been finalized.
Despite this shift away from Early Access, player feedback will still play an important role in development. Several closed playtests, held under NDA, are planned for 2026 as the project approaches release.
