Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have revealed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes, a major story expansion set to debut on December 19, the same day the film Avatar: Fire and Ash hits theaters. The content will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, and Luna.

The expansion shifts focus to So’lek, a Na’vi warrior from the Trr’ong clan, who is ambushed and left for dead after an attack by the RDA and the newly introduced Ash clan. Awakening to find his family scattered and his homeland reduced to ash, So’lek embarks on a journey of survival and vengeance through the devastated Kinglor Forest and an entirely new region of the Western Frontier.
According to the developers, From the Ashes introduces a darker and more intimate narrative while expanding gameplay with third-person perspectives and new combat mechanics designed to raise both tactical and emotional stakes. Ubisoft describes the storyline as an opportunity to explore Pandora from a fresh angle, with deeper storytelling and heightened immersion.
The expansion will be sold separately for existing players and also bundled in the newly announced From the Ashes Edition, which includes the base game, the new expansion, and exclusive banshee customization patterns inspired by Pandora – The World of Avatar.
