DaRmaZat City Connection has announced that R-Type Delta: HD Boosted will launch on November 20 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam. The game will be available digitally on all platforms, with physical editions offered for PS5 and Switch.
In addition to the standard edition, two premium physical bundles are available: the R-Typer’s Edition includes the game, a two-disc soundtrack, official fan book, and cloth poster; while the R-Typer’s Premium Edition adds metallic art mini posters, a lenticular visual, and a reprint of Irem’s “Dragonfly” R-Type newsletter.
R-Type Delta: HD Boosted is a high-definition remaster of the acclaimed 1998 sci-fi shoot-’em-up, known for its eerie atmosphere, minimalist storytelling, and razor-sharp polygonal graphics. The game features three playable ships, unique Delta Attacks, and the Force mechanic that defines the series’ tactical depth.
Set in the year 2163, players pilot the prototype R9aII Delta fighter against the apocalyptic threat of Moritz-G, a rogue space platform capable of planetary annihilation. Enhanced with new music, modern visuals, and quality-of-life updates, this version preserves the intensity of the original while refining it for a new generation.
