DaRmaZat Publisher Top Hat Studios and developer Kyle Thompson, known for Crypt Custodian and Islets, have revealed Well Dweller, a dark fairy tale Metroidvania coming to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in 2026.
The game follows Glimmer, a small bird armed with a matchstick, who sets out to defeat a wicked queen and rescue his family. Players will explore a shadowy kingdom beneath the forest, uncovering dangerous creatures, forgotten ruins, and strange inhabitants.
Along the way, Glimmer will meet characters such as Ilda, a mouse on the run from the queen’s grasp, and Looter, a scavenger searching abandoned castles for valuables. New abilities unlock as players progress, expanding the map and opening new paths through puzzles, hidden areas, and challenging encounters.
Well Dweller‘s combat and exploration can be customized by collecting and combining trinkets, while vicious bosses and a rotting kingdom stand between Glimmer and his final confrontation in the queen’s quarters.
