Developer AttritoM7 Productions and publisher IZilla Games have announced that BLACKWOOD: Act 1 will release on PC via Steam on September 16, 2026. A new release date trailer showcases the cinematic third-person action thriller set in a recreated 2012 New York City.

Players control protagonist Anton Blackwood, who balances living as an ordinary Brooklyn DVD store owner by day with operating as a contract killer by night. Beyond mission combat, gameplay includes managing the DVD store by stocking inventory, setting prices, and decorating the space. The combat relies on responsive firearm mechanics, melee interactions, slides, dives, dynamic environmental executions, and stealth.
BLACKWOOD: Act 1 marks the beginning of a planned three-part story arc, offering over six hours of content across four main missions alongside multiple side objectives. It is a full single-player launch rather than an Early Access release. Players who purchase Act 1 will receive Acts 2 and 3 as free content updates, with Act 2 planned for March 2027 and Act 3 scheduled for September 2027.
