Onimusha: Way of the Sword Receives Comprehensive Game Overview Trailer and Playable Demo

Capcom has released a five-minute Game Overview trailer and a fresh batch of screenshots for its upcoming swordplay action title, Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The title is scheduled to launch globally on September 25 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.

Directed by Satoru Nihei, the detailed gameplay footage introduces a fearsome new adversary that players will encounter during the campaign. Dubbed Dohatsu-ten, this winged Genma warrior from the depths of hell has carved its way into the mortal realm, setting up an intense, bloodthirsty boss battle where it locks blades directly with protagonist Miyamoto Musashi.

Alongside the trailer drop, Capcom officially launched a playable demo, allowing consumers to experience the game’s high-stakes combat mechanics immediately. The demo is currently available to download across all announced launch platforms with the sole exception of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Pre-orders for the title have officially opened across digital storefronts. Early buyers will secure exclusive digital in-game cosmetic and mechanical bonuses, including the Sealed Curse weapon skin for Musashi’s sword alongside a protective Lion Dog accessory charm.
