Developer Polyarc has officially announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic, a non-VR fantasy adventure that combines the narratives of the critically acclaimed, virtual reality-exclusive titles Moss and Moss: Book II. The definitive, singular experience is scheduled to launch on July 16 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

The upcoming title unites both award-winning chapters into a single, cohesive package that has been beautifully enhanced and reimagined for its debut on traditional screens. Set within the pages of a living storybook brimming with ancient magic, players form a powerful bond with Quill, a small and courageous mouse who relies on the player for guidance, protection, and trust. Together, the duo must traverse a mythic fallen kingdom whose ancient ruins are slowly being reclaimed by nature.
Gameplay-wise, your task is to guide Quill through mysterious places, confronting arcane forces, and solving handcrafted, diorama-like environmental puzzles woven directly into the landscape. This version brings several major upgrades to the table, including enhanced visuals and performance, completely new handcrafted cutscenes, and a specialized “Smart Follow” camera system.
Additionally, The Forgotten Relic bundles in all of the previously released “Twilight Garden” downloadable content. To ensure a welcoming experience for all players, Polyarc has also implemented a new “Skip Combat” accessibility option, allowing players to bypass fights and focus entirely on the heartfelt story, puzzle-solving, and exploration. The grand adventure is backed by an orchestral soundtrack from acclaimed composer Jason Graves.
Eager to sample the journey? You can jump into a playable PC demo starting June 8.
