Aurogon Shanghai has released a brand-new gameplay trailer for Swords of Legends, while officially confirming that the cinematic action-adventure RPG will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam upon release.

Serving as the official sequel to the popular Gujian series, Swords of Legends is a single-player experience set in a mythic primordial age drawn directly from classical Chinese literature. In this realm, mortals, gods, and wandering souls walk the same earth. Brought back to the mortal realm by the Judge of King Yama, you walk the world once more as a Sipan—an Arbiter of the Underworld – tasked with seeking out lost souls who cannot find their path home.
The new trailer, showcased during Summer Game Fest, highlights the game’s deep and diverse combat system through a high-profile boss battle against Kong Kong Zi, the Master of Cantrip. Rather than being invented from whole cloth, this theatrical adversary’s movements are grounded in Traditional Chinese Conjuring, a centuries-old real-world tradition of close-up stage magic.
A newly revealed Spirit Companion system allows you to bring a soul from the spirit realm into battle. These companions actively intercept incoming damage and join you to execute powerful linked finishers. The footage showcases the abilities of your first companion: the Ox, a spectral, horned fellow traveler of the netherworld.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game brings ancient Chinese mythology to life in stunning cinematic detail, featuring creatures and lore inspired by The Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing). By defeating reluctant spirits and laying their final burdens to rest, you can recruit them to fight by your side, with each captured soul offering unique story insights and combat assistance.
