Yacht Club Games has confirmed that retro-inspired action-adventure Mina the Hollower will launch on May 29 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store.

Best known for Shovel Knight, Yacht Club Games is taking a darker direction with Mina the Hollower, blending Victorian Gothic horror with fast-paced 8-bit-inspired gameplay. Players control Mina, a famed Hollower sent to rescue a cursed island filled with monsters, hidden secrets, and strange characters. Combat revolves around Mina’s whip, Nightstar, alongside sidearms, trinkets, and customizable upgrades that shape different playstyles.
The game mixes classic Game Boy Color-inspired visuals with modern enhancements including widescreen presentation, refined animation, and smoother controls. Exploration also plays a major role, with interconnected areas, hidden paths, challenging bosses, and burrowing mechanics allowing Mina to tunnel beneath enemies and hazards.
Alongside its gothic atmosphere and action-focused gameplay, Mina the Hollower also features a new chiptune soundtrack by longtime Yacht Club collaborator Jake Kaufman, aiming to deliver a retro adventure with a darker and more ambitious tone than the studio’s previous projects.
