Off-road exploration game over the hill will host a closed playtest from April 24 to April 26 on PC via Steam, ahead of its planned 2026 release, with later launches set for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Focused on open-ended traversal rather than competition, over the hill centers on navigating vast natural environments using vintage 4×4 vehicles. There are no structured races or finish lines, with the experience instead built around reading terrain, choosing routes, and adapting to unpredictable landscapes.
The newly showcased Algeria biome highlights one of the game’s expansive regions, featuring sun-scorched plateaus, sand-filled valleys, ancient ruins, and scattered environmental details such as meteorite remnants. Each area is designed to encourage exploration while presenting natural obstacles that require careful driving and planning.
Vehicle handling plays a significant role, with each model reacting differently to terrain, weight, and momentum. Cooperative play allows participants to assist each other in real time, including recovering stuck vehicles using tools like winches, reinforcing the game’s emphasis on shared journeys rather than individual performance.
Progression ties into unlocking new vehicles and customizing setups, enabling deeper exploration into increasingly challenging environments. Whether driving solo or tackling routes with others, the structure leans into emergent storytelling shaped by each journey.
