Single-player first-person Soulslike Valor Mortis is set to launch this fall for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Set in an alternate 19th-century Europe, Valor Mortis places you in the role of William, a fallen soldier of Napoleon’s Grande Armée who is brought back to life under mysterious circumstances. The world he returns to is no longer defined by war alone, as a devastating plague has spread across the continent, twisting both the land and its inhabitants.
Valor Mortis‘ combat revolves around a methodical system built on timing and precision, combining parries, evasive movement, and brutal finishing moves. Each death feeds into progression, allowing for gradual mastery and the unlocking of new abilities. The infection coursing through William’s body becomes a key mechanic, enabling supernatural powers that enhance attacks and expand combat options.
Exploration in Valor Mortis plays an equally important role, with environments shaped by the consequences of endless conflict. The latest trailer highlights new locations filled with hazards and secrets, alongside expanded traversal options such as parkour mechanics that open up more dynamic movement through the world. These elements are designed to complement encounters with plague-infested enemies, including members of Napoleon’s corrupted Eternal Guard and newly revealed boss threats.
The narrative blends historical influences with darker, supernatural undertones, weaving real-world figures into a story driven by mystery and decay. As William ventures deeper into this altered Europe, uncovering the origins of the plague becomes central to understanding both the world and his own resurrection.
