The Victorian steampunk role-playing game Sovereign Syndicate has officially made its move to consoles, with the narrative-driven RPG now available on PlayStation 4 & 5 and Xbox One & Series X|S, following its original PC release in early 2024.

Originally launched on PC via Steam on January 15, 2024, Sovereign Syndicate is developed by Crimson Herring Studios and published by Zugalu Entertainment alongside Gamersky Games. The console editions arrive with all post-launch improvements from the PC version, including additional language support and refined systems, allowing console players to experience the full version of the game as it exists today.
Set in a fantastical steampunk reimagining of Victorian London, the game places players in control of three protagonists whose stories intersect across the city’s docklands. Each character brings their own background, skills, and motivations, with player decisions shaping how their personal arcs unfold. Rather than relying on traditional dice rolls, Sovereign Syndicate uses a tarot card-based chance system that blends character skills, dialogue choices, and luck, reinforcing its focus on narrative role-playing over random stat allocation.
Gameplay emphasizes investigation, conversation, and player agency, offering multiple approaches to solving problems, whether through combat, persuasion, magic, or more unconventional methods. Skills evolve organically based on player actions, unlocking new dialogue options and narrative outcomes as the story progresses. The open-ended structure encourages experimentation, with success and failure alike feeding back into character growth and world-building.
Sovereign Syndicate is available now on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
