DaRmaZat The cooperative survival adventure game The Gold River Project will enter Early Access on January 23, 2026 for PC via Steam, Fairview Games announced in partnership with co-publisher Sightline Games.
Set in the remote wilderness of the Pacific Northwest, The Gold River Project begins as a seemingly peaceful camping trip before quickly spiraling into a tense fight for survival. Players find themselves trapped inside a vast and isolated nature reserve, divided by towering and unexplained walls, with the sense that someone—or something—is watching from afar. The experience can be played solo or in online co-op with up to four players.
Exploration and survival are tightly intertwined as players kayak across lakes, hike through dense forests, and establish camps wherever conditions allow. Staying alive means carefully managing hunger, fatigue, health, and body temperature while learning to live off the land. Crafting tools, cooking meals, purifying water, and scavenging for resources all play a crucial role, with every item carrying potential long-term consequences.
The game’s dynamic seasonal system reshapes the environment over time, introducing new hazards and forcing players to adapt their strategies as conditions change. Each playthrough is designed to feel different, with shifting points of interest, supplies, substations, and routes through the wilderness. As the mystery at the heart of the reserve slowly unfolds, players must balance cooperation, exploration, and survival in order to escape before the environment overwhelms them.
