The flight simulation game Aces of Thunder will launch on February 3, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, as confirmed by developer Gaijin Entertainment and publisher Gaijin Network Ltd.

Designed to deliver an immersive first-person aerial combat experience, Aces of Thunder focuses on historically accurate dogfighting from the cockpit perspective. Players can engage in intense air battles either in standard “flat screen” mode or using virtual reality, with the game built specifically to take advantage of the latest generation VR headsets while remaining fully playable without VR hardware.
Set across both World War I and World War II, the game features 29 meticulously recreated aircraft, including iconic fighters such as the P-51 Mustang, Spitfire, Bf 109, A6M Zero, and legendary Great War planes like the Fokker Dr.I and SPAD S.XIII. Battles unfold across 15 maps spanning major theaters of war, including the Western, Eastern, and Pacific fronts, as well as signature World War I battlefields.
Gameplay emphasizes realism through physically accurate flight and damage models derived from Gaijin’s experience with War Thunder. All combat takes place exclusively from the cockpit view to heighten immersion, with full support for HOTAS setups, gamepads, and VR motion controllers. Players can participate in online multiplayer dogfights, fly in formation with friends, or explore historical campaigns and standalone missions that recreate key moments in aviation combat history. Additional modes such as a mission editor, proving ground, and hangar exploration further expand the experience.
