Resummon Studios has announced that the official demo for Forsworn will release on December 1 for PC via Steam, giving players their first hands-on experience with the dark medieval tactical RPG. The title blends roguelike progression with turn-based party combat, playable either solo or in cooperative sessions of up to three players.

Set in a world scarred by a divine conflict between light and darkness, Forsworn follows resurrected heroes who traverse a corrupted realm in search of long-buried truths. Each run challenges players to rebuild their party from the ashes, with death serving as a reset rather than an ending. The game’s story centers on a land reshaped by fallen gods and the lingering power that continues to twist the world.
Forsworn’s battles draw inspiration from modern tactical RPGs, emphasizing positioning, synergy, and evolving character builds. Heroes unlock blessings that alter the properties of their abilities, discover items that introduce new mechanics, and combine skills to create emergent strategies. Rather than simply increasing stats, upgrades modify how characters function, enabling new playstyles as players progress through each attempt.
Forsworn is developed by Dat Le, who began the project as a personal passion before expanding it into a full tactical roguelike over the past two years. According to Le, the demo represents the game’s first major opportunity to let players experience the systems and combat depth that have defined its development.
The demo includes the first act of the game’s planned three-act structure, featuring five playable heroes, distinct archetypes, and a wide range of abilities and items. It also showcases the simultaneous-turn system that allows all players in a co-op session to act at once, reinforcing the game’s focus on coordinated team tactics. Alongside the early look at combat and progression, the demo provides an introduction to the corrupted world and the divine forces shaping its downfall.
