Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Housemarque will release the third-person action roguelike Saros for PlayStation 5 on March 20, 2026.
Update December 12, 2025: Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Housemarque have delayed Saros from its previously planned March 20, 2026 release date to April 30.

Set on the hostile, shape-shifting planet of Carcosa, Saros follows protagonist Arjun Devraj, performed by Rahul Kohli, as he explores biomes that transform after every death. During an extended gameplay reveal, Arjun encounters Nitya Chandran, played by Shunori Ramanthan, while traversing ancient ruins under the looming threat of a total eclipse.
Housemarque is building upon the foundation of Returnal’s acclaimed combat system by introducing new tools, weapons, and abilities. Players will wield both Soltari human weaponry and Carcosan alien technology, including Power Weapons that corrupt Arjun’s arm to unleash devastating eclipse-fueled attacks. His combat suit also grants mobility options such as dashing and melee, while defensive systems like the Soltari Shield allow players to absorb enemy projectiles and retaliate with explosive energy.
Beyond combat, Saros emphasizes storytelling through cinematics, voice-over, NPC interactions, audio logs, and collectible Soltari Holograms that shed light on the fate of Carcosa. Permanent progression features, such as the “Second Chance” resurrection mechanic and suit upgrades, ensure each death brings new opportunities for advancement.
The game’s audiovisual presentation is supported by PlayStation Studios Creative Arts and Nixxes, with a dark-electronic and drone-metal score composed by two-time Grammy Award winner Sam Slater, known for his work on Chernobyl, Joker, and Mandy.
