ININ Games and developer YS NET have announced Shenmue III Enhanced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. A release date has not been revealed. Players who own the original PlayStation 4 or PC release will be able to upgrade.

This upgraded edition refines Ryo Hazuki’s journey with sharper visuals, performance boosts, and modern quality-of-life updates while preserving the feel of the original adventure. Visual upgrades include 4K textures, faster load times, and support for DLSS/FSR on compatible platforms. Cities such as Niaowu also feature greater NPC density, making the world feel more alive.
Players can switch between a new camera option inspired by the first two Shenmue games and the modern perspective introduced in Shenmue III. Additional improvements include adjustable stamina, automatic health recovery before combat, reduced financial barriers, and more flexible quick-time events. For those who prefer the classic experience, nearly every enhancement can be toggled on or off.
