Developer Bleakmill has released a new developer update for INDUSTRIA 2, offering an extended look at the “Cannery” level and confirming plans for a playable demo at Gamescom 2025. In a new commented gameplay video, players are walked through one of the game’s most cohesive and feature-complete slices yet.

INDUSTRIA 2 is a narrative-driven first-person adventure that follows Nora, a woman trapped in a parallel dimension years after the events of the original game. Caught between a collapsing world and the legacy of her own actions, Nora must navigate a decaying industrial landscape overtaken by a sentient A.I. known as ATLAS.
Set in a haunting fusion of overgrown nature and machine horror, this tightly paced 4–6 hour indie experience invites players to scavenge, survive, and uncover the truth behind ATLAS — and Nora’s past. Blending immersive exploration with deliberate, atmospheric combat, INDUSTRIA 2 features physics-based interactions, a fully diegetic inventory system, upgradable weapons, and dynamic audio powered by Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen lighting and Wwise audio engine.
While still in development, the footage highlights the integration of many of the game’s core systems: AI companions and enemies, physics-based interactions, stealth via motion sensor, crafting, and diegetic UI elements like Nora’s inventory. Combat remains grounded and deliberate — ammo is scarce, enemies are deadly, and survival often means avoiding conflict entirely.
The Cannery level introduces new threats, including a disturbing enemy known as the “Surger,” a once-human figure drained of the vital machine fluid called Petrichor. Players must solve environmental puzzles, navigate layered spaces, and manage risk as they push deeper into the mysterious world.
A playable demo of the game will debut at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne this August, with a Steam Playtest planned shortly after for those attending remotely.
