Dotemu and Tribute Games took to San Diego Comic-Con to unveil two new playable characters joining the roster of Marvel Cosmic Invasion, their upcoming co-op beat ’em up inspired by the golden age of Marvel comics. The new additions—Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill—were revealed alongside the game’s full voice cast during a surprise panel and trailer drop, giving fans a deeper look into the galaxy-spanning action headed to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in 2025.

The Silver Surfer, imbued with the Power Cosmic and known as the former herald of Galactus, will glide into battle with his signature blend of ranged energy attacks and fluid aerial mobility. He’s joined by Beta Ray Bill, the cybernetically enhanced Korbinite warrior and wielder of Stormbreaker, whose strength and thunderous hammer attacks bring heavy-hitting power to the battlefield. Both heroes were showcased in a comic-style trailer that offered the first glimpse of their in-game movesets.
In addition to the character reveals, Tribute Games confirmed that Marvel Cosmic Invasion will feature full voice acting for both playable heroes and supporting characters across its storyline. The cast includes Brian Bloom as Captain America and Silver Surfer, Steve Blum as Venom and Beta Ray Bill, Matt Mercer as Nova and Annihilus, and Josh Keaton as Spider-Man, among others. Voice actors Trevor Devall and Elysia Rotaru also joined the panel to discuss their roles as Rocket Raccoon and She-Hulk, respectively.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion throws players into a classic side-scrolling adventure where Super Heroes must unite to stop the immortal villain Annihilus and his invading Annihilation Wave. Players will travel from the streets of New York to the depths of the Negative Zone, tagging between two heroes mid-battle using the unique Cosmic Swap mechanic to unleash devastating combos. With drop-in/drop-out online and local co-op for up to four players, plus crossplay and accessibility features, the game is designed for both solo brawlers and full superhero squads.
Fans can expect a total of 15 playable characters at launch, with more yet to be revealed. The confirmed lineup so far includes Spider-Man, Wolverine, She-Hulk, Venom, Storm, Phyla-Vell, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Captain America, and now Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill. Following their work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Dotemu and Tribute Games are once again blending pixel-perfect visuals, fast-paced tag-team combat, and deep reverence for comic book history into one explosive package.
