Wolcen Studio has released a behind-the-scenes interview video offering the first in-depth look at its upcoming dark fantasy extraction RPG, Project Pantheon. Titled “What is Project Pantheon,” the feature showcases core developers discussing the game’s bold concept and its place within the evolving top-down RPG genre.

In the interview, Game Director Andrei Chirculete, Narrative Director Adam Dowden, and Art Director Elliot Bocxtaele share key insights into the project’s creative vision. Players are cast into a grim mythological universe where all belief systems are real, and Death itself serves as your cosmic employer.
Blending competitive extraction gameplay with the structure of a top-down action RPG, Project Pantheon introduces a genre fusion rarely seen in gaming. The result is a high-stakes experience, where each match offers a new tactical challenge and a satisfying surge of relief after surviving an intense run.
One of the standout concepts? “Dead gods” — massive, fallen deities that double as explorable landmarks, each hiding lore, threats, and rare opportunities.
The game’s visual identity also sets it apart. With haunting environments like shattered drakkars frozen in ice and crumbling Greek temples, the art direction aims to evoke visceral dread and mystery. This first feature includes a brief tease of gameplay footage, giving fans their first taste of its brutal, myth-soaked world — and a look at the symbol that will represent Project Pantheon in its final form.
Though gameplay footage remains limited, the studio promises more reveals soon. For now, this video marks a turning point: Project Pantheon is stepping out of the shadows.
