Maximum Entertainment has officially announced Smalland II: Lost Realms, an open-world survival crafting prequel to the multiplayer survival hit. The game is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2026, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version confirmed to follow in 2027.

Taking you back down to a microscopic scale, this next installment explores an ancient era long before the previous game, trading the ruins of modern humanity for a high-fantasy wilderness untouched by the colonization of the Giants. The narrative places you in a time when the Smallfolk are trying to establish their roots across the dangerous wilderness. When the tribal elders foresee a tragic, apocalyptic omen that threatens to permanently devastate the ecosystem, it falls upon you to venture into unexplored territories to prevent the incoming catastrophe. To survive, you will have to discover lost realms, connect with distinct local cultures, and uncover arcane technological secrets hidden deep within the brush.
Smalland II: Lost Realms‘s core gameplay centers on co-op survival, fully supporting up to 10 players in a single online world to gather resources, fight off predators, and build interconnected outposts. Exploration is highly vertical, allowing you to craft specialized armor and gliding equipment to safely traverse towering tree branches, navigate deep forest waters, and soar through the skies. The sequel also introduces an expanded creature-taming mechanic, allowing you to form companion bonds with magical, elementally attuned animals that utilize their unique biological traits to assist you in close-quarters combat and resource transportation.
