Developer Archetype Entertainment has released a 20-minute extended gameplay reveal video alongside a fresh set of screenshots for EXODUS. The upcoming science-fiction action-adventure RPG is scheduled to launch in early 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

EXODUS follows Jun Aslan, a scrappy salvager turned Traveler, on a journey across the Centauri Cluster. Players must lead a crew across dangerous reaches of space and explore ancient ruins to save Jun’s homeworld from the Rot, a Celestial virus driving humanity toward extinction. Players can fully customize Jun’s physical appearance and choose to play as a male or female Traveler. Character progression and world reactions are governed by a morality alignment system, where players shape their path as either a virtuous Paladin or an ambitious Immortal, dictating how their powers evolve and which abilities can be upgraded.
The gameplay footage highlights advanced Traveler tech, such as the Recycler weapon, which shifts between a mid-range Repeater mode, a close-quarters Shredder mode, and a long-range precision Piercer mode. Jun also wields a customizable Gauntlet that upgrades with salvaged alien tech to unlock abilities like Eruption – used for launching enemies and shaping livestone terrain – and Lance for piercing strikes and clearing Rot bramble. Additional utility tools include Precognition to mark hostiles, a Scramble Cloak for stealth attacks, and a Sonic Lure to draw enemies.
This reveal also details Jun’s crew companions, including xeno-archaeologist Phaedra Nath, cautious veteran Tom Vargas, and mech pilot Elise Charroux. The universe features the Awakened – highly intelligent, bioengineered, and cybernetic animals brought on ark ships who speak and live alongside humans. This integrated population is shown in roles such as an Awakened elephant running a vendor stall, alongside other Awakened acting as mercenaries, merchants, soldiers, and medics. The story emphasizes choice, featuring a control room scenario where players must choose between Elise’s plan to purge hostiles through an airlock or Tom’s warning regarding innocent bystanders. These decisions are further complicated by Time Dilation; traveling near lightspeed means days for Jun translate to weeks or months back home, altering the state of the world and the people left behind upon return.
