Publisher Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the critically acclaimed second entry in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, is now officially available on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

The multi-platform release also launches for Windows PC via Xbox on PC, featuring integrated Xbox Play Anywhere support. This rollout follows the previous multi-platform deployment of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, making the reimagined trilogy fully playable up through its second chapter across all current-generation ecosystems while development continues on the final installment.
Alongside the new versions, Square Enix has introduced a specialized “Streamlined Progression” toggle, which is also rolling out as an update to the pre-existing PlayStation 5 and PC versions. Designed for narrative-focused playthroughs, activating this optional feature modifies real-time combat elements by granting players unlimited Hit Points (HP), Magic Points (MP), and Active Time Battle (ATB) charges. It also locks raw player damage output at a maximum of 9,999 per hit and adjusts underlying gameplay variables to accelerate weapon acquisition and ease general mechanical difficulty.
A free introductory gameplay demo has been launched simultaneously on the Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 digital storefronts, covering the complete narrative arcs of Chapters 1 and 2. The demo’s first chapter follows a flashback sequence featuring a younger Cloud Strife alongside the legendary antagonist Sephiroth, while the second chapter opens up exploration across the expansive Grasslands region. The trial includes full access to side activities, hidden treasures, and the Queen’s Blood strategic card mini-game, with all recorded user save data transferring directly into the full commercial release.
