Publisher Kwalee and developer Kwalee Labs have unveiled a new gameplay trailer for first-person bullet hell action adventure Luna Abyss during Indie Fan Fest, offering a fresh look at its fast-paced combat, traversal mechanics, and oppressive sci-fi atmosphere. The game is slated to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The newly released trailer highlights the game’s fluid first-person movement system, blending sprinting, jumping, and high-speed dashing across massive brutalist environments deep within the mimic moon Luna. Combat sequences emphasize intense bullet-hell encounters against corrupted entities and cosmic horrors, requiring precise movement, weapon mastery, and rapid adaptation under pressure.
Set within a colossal derelict megastructure buried beneath Luna’s surface, Luna Abyss places players in the role of a prisoner condemned to descend into the Abyss. Their objective is to recover lost technology swallowed by the ruins of a fallen colony. Throughout the descent, players are observed by Aylin, an artificial intelligence warden who monitors every action. The deeper players venture, the more they uncover about Greymont’s destruction, the Scourge, and the mysterious forces guiding them toward the heart of the Abyss.
Alongside the trailer, an updated PC demo is now available, introducing substantial improvements and new content. A brand-new demo area, “Scourge Crater,” features a dedicated boss fight, a new playable level, additional weapons and abilities, and new enemy types drawn from the depths. The previously available “Sorrows Canyon” section has been refined and slightly shortened to improve pacing.
The demo update also implements multiple community-requested improvements, including a fix for the mouse sensitivity slider, enhanced sound effects across menus and gameplay, and expanded difficulty customization options. Players can access additional difficulty settings, a dedicated Story Mode, and a Traversal Skip Mode designed to improve accessibility.
Further enhancements include expanded game options and sensitivity sliders, ultra-widescreen support, updated Codex entries with contextual imagery, and full controller compatibility with PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch Pro, and Switch 2 Pro controllers. Language support has also been broadened to include Brazilian Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian, alongside existing European language options.
Players who previously experienced the original demo can access the new “Scourge Crater” area directly from the main menu, though the developers recommend replaying earlier sections to experience the refinements firsthand.
