Stellar Wanderer DX, a space simulation game, is set to launch on March 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, publisher Leoful and developer Dream Builder Studios have announced. The Deluxe edition marks an expanded and enhanced release of the original title, bringing refined systems and updated visuals to a wide range of platforms.
Set within a vast open-galaxy universe, Stellar Wanderer DX draws inspiration from classic space sims, emphasizing freedom of choice across combat, trading, and exploration. The galaxy is structured around multiple star systems with varying levels of security and danger, ranging from well-patrolled hubs to lawless pirate-controlled regions. Progression is shaped by long-term decisions, whether following the main narrative or pursuing side activities at an individual pace.
Gameplay revolves around four distinct ship classes—Fighter, Trader, Tank, and Engineer—each offering unique abilities and strategic advantages. Space combat supports multiple camera perspectives, including third-person, first-person, and cockpit view, and combines dogfighting with tactical maneuvering against hostile factions, pirates, and alien threats. Beyond combat, resource mining, trading, and smuggling play a central role in building influence and wealth across the galaxy.
Customization is a core pillar of the experience, with a wide selection of ships and a deep upgrade system covering weapons, shields, engines, and specialized modules. These systems allow ships to be tailored for aggressive combat roles, efficient trading routes, or high-risk smuggling operations. Exploration further expands the experience, encouraging travel through diverse space environments filled with hidden caches, points of interest, and optional challenges.
The Deluxe edition introduces rebuilt space systems, expanded locations, and visual upgrades across environments, ships, and cockpits. These enhancements are paired with refinements to controls and gameplay mechanics, alongside a fully voiced narrative spanning roughly ten hours. Together, these changes aim to deliver a more polished and immersive version of the original concept.
