The 2D cinematic action-adventure game Forgotlings is set to launch on February 17 for PC via Steam. Developed by Throughline Games and published by Hitcents, the story-driven title has now received a firm release date following earlier delays, while console versions are still planned for a later time.

Set in an enchanted world shaped by forgotten objects and fading memories, Forgotlings tells an original tale about purpose, identity, and unity. Players step into the role of Fig, a gifted posing doll and the captain of the sentient ship Volare, as she travels across distant lands in an effort to unite fractured tribes against a mysterious threat looming over their existence. The game’s narrative unfolds across a semi-open world that encourages exploration and player-driven choices.
Forgotlings‘ gameplay blends side-scrolling action with stealth and direct combat encounters, allowing players to adapt their approach when facing bandits and hostile creatures in the wilderness. Social interaction also plays a key role, as players can converse with forgotlings from different tribes or challenge them in INA, a popular in-world game that serves as both a cultural touchstone and a gameplay mechanic.
Visually, Forgotlings is presented as a hand-crafted animated experience, featuring thousands of hand-drawn animation frames and richly detailed environments designed to evoke the feeling of a playable animated film. The world is further brought to life through full voice acting and a haunting musical score performed by the acclaimed Theatre of Voices, reinforcing the game’s cinematic tone and emotional weight.
