The upcoming turn-based strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has revealed a fully reworked look at its Necropolis faction through a new official trailer. The update spotlights extensive revisions to the undead stronghold, presenting Necropolis as a darker, more cohesive force shaped directly by community feedback.

The new trailer focuses on Necropolis as a faction defined by death magic, attrition, and relentless pressure. Visual updates emphasize a more imposing necromancer city, reinforced defenses, and an expanded roster led by the newly introduced Dread Knights. These elite cavalry units reinforce Necropolis’ identity as a faction built around fear, inevitability, and overwhelming late-game presence, while ambient chants and sound design deepen the faction’s oppressive atmosphere.
Necropolis was the first faction revealed during an earlier showcase, but developer Unfrozen has since revisited its design extensively. The updated presentation reflects refinements to unit silhouettes, environmental details, and faction cohesion, aiming to better align gameplay mechanics with the fantasy of commanding an undead legion.
Set in the world of Enroth on the new continent of Jadame, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era marks a return to the series’ classic turn-based roots while introducing modern systems and expanded strategic depth. A free playable demo remains available on PC via Steam, allowing players to experiment with multiple factions, including Necropolis, and experience the game’s core mechanics ahead of its planned Early Access release in 2026.
