Public Demo Also Now Announced
Co-op survival horror game Fearwoods is heading to PC via Steam, and the developers have shared a new development update highlighting major visual, gameplay, and social improvements as work continues on the project. The update introduces refined environments, smoother movement, redesigned core mechanics, and improved multiplayer features, alongside newly released screenshots and assets.
Update — February 10: The team behind Fearwoods, the upcoming co-op survival horror game, has launched its Steam demo page ahead of Steam Next Fest. The demo will be publicly playable starting February 23.

The forest setting of Fearwoods has been visually reworked to improve terrain readability and environmental detail, making exploration more natural while preserving the game’s oppressive atmosphere. Navigation has been enhanced through the introduction of an early-era GPS system set before the events of the first game, offering guidance without undermining tension. Movement has also been overhauled, resulting in more responsive controls that better support both quiet exploration and high-pressure encounters.
Performance and visual stability have been improved through broader optimization efforts, ensuring smoother play across a wider range of PC configurations. Gameplay changes extend to the weapon system, which has been redesigned around a single flashlight-based mechanic rather than multiple interchangeable tools, reinforcing the game’s light-driven survival focus. Social features have also received attention, with upgrades to the 3D pre-match lobby and Steam-based friends system aimed at making co-op sessions more reliable and easier to manage.
Fearwoods is set to launch in Q1 2026.
