Developed by Team Vultures and published by Firesquid Games, Vultures – Scavengers of Death is an upcoming survival horror game that blends classic 1990s-inspired tension with turn-based tactical combat. Drawing inspiration from classic survival horror franchises, Vultures – Scavengers of Death features a retro PS1-style aesthetic and deliberate pacing that emphasizes isolation, exploration, and constant danger. Ahead of its full release, the game will receive a playable demo on February 12, available exclusively on PC via Steam.

Set in a world devastated by a deadly infection, Vultures – Scavengers of Death places players in the role of operatives from the VULTURES mercenary unit, tasked with scavenging a ruined metropolis for materials and information that could help uncover a cure. Missions revolve around careful preparation, with agents featuring distinct combat styles and customizable loadouts before being sent into hostile territory.
Once deployed, survival depends on tactical decision-making rather than brute force. Players can avoid encounters through stealth, but when combat is unavoidable, turn-based battles emphasize positioning, targeting vital areas, and disabling enemies to gain the upper hand. Every engagement carries risk, reinforcing the game’s focus on tension and resource management.
The upcoming demo offers access to the game’s opening mission, set inside an abandoned police station. Players will control Leopoldo, one of the VULTURES operatives, and gain access to three weapons: a combat knife, a pistol, and a shotgun. The mission is designed to take around 45 minutes for first-time players and introduces the core mechanics and atmosphere of the game.
Narratively, the demo centers on Leopoldo’s investigation into the last known refuge of scientist Thiago Schultz, who disappeared shortly before the outbreak. Searching for records and evidence left behind in the station may provide the first clues to understanding what caused the collapse of Salento Valley, now a desolate urban wasteland filled with hostile mutants and lingering horrors.
