Africanfuturist heist adventure Relooted will launch on February 10 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, developer Nyamakop has announced.

Set near the end of the 21st century, Relooted imagines a future shaped by cultural reckoning and broken promises. After a Transatlantic Returns Treaty initially commits Western museums to repatriating African artifacts, a late amendment undermines the process by limiting returns to objects on public display. As museums quietly remove items from view, a new and far less diplomatic response takes shape.

The game follows Nomali, an everyday citizen drawn into a series of carefully planned heists aimed at reclaiming stolen artifacts of deep cultural, historical, and spiritual importance. Rather than elite criminals, the crew is made up of ordinary people from across Africa, each bringing distinct skills and perspectives to the operation. Recruitment and teamwork are central, with every member playing a role in preparation and execution.

Each mission begins with careful planning. Locations must be surveyed, obstacles assessed, puzzles solved, and escape routes prepared before making a move. Once an artifact is taken, the tone shifts into a high-energy getaway, blending time pressure with fluid, parkour-driven movement as Nomali attempts to escape the scene. Poor preparation can quickly turn a clean operation into a frantic scramble.

From a hideout rooted in a futuristic vision of Johannesburg, Relooted blends stealth, puzzle-solving, and narrative-driven heists with a strong thematic focus. Across the campaign, 70 real-world African artifacts form the heart of its missions, grounding its speculative future in real history and contemporary conversations around ownership and restitution.
