Award-Winning Point-and-Click Game The Drifter Adds New Localisations Ahead of Nintendo Switch Release

The award-winning point-and-click thriller The Drifter is officially heading to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 later this year, developer Powerhoof has confirmed. The console versions are currently in development, with more details on timing and release specifics to be shared at a later date.

In The Drifter, you step into the role of Mick Carter as he navigates a pulpy web of conspiracies, murder, and shadowy corporations, brought to life through expressive pixel art, full voice acting, and a tense synth-driven score.

Originally released on PC in summer 2025 via Steam and GOG for Windows, macOS, and Linux, the game has continued to evolve post-launch. Recently, the game has received a new update that introduces official French, Italian, and Spanish localizations, expanding accessibility for a wider international audience while fan-made translation support remains fully intact. The latest patch also includes a range of quality-of-life improvements, text corrections, bug fixes, and internal optimizations, further refining the experience of its fast-paced, narrative-driven adventure.
