The dark medieval fantasy turn-based roguelite RPG Blightstone will enter Early Access on January 20 for PC via Steam. Developed by Unfinished Pixel, the game introduces a tactical experience built around freeform movement, elemental interactions, and a looping structure where each failed run permanently alters a world consumed by corruption.

Set in a dying realm overtaken by the Blightstone, the game tasks players with escorting the Earthglass Crystal toward the Infernal Rift in a final attempt to defeat the demon overlord Korghul. Each expedition assembles a party of heroes bound to the living crystal, with progress shaped by procedural encounters, evolving battlefields, and long-term roguelite progression.
Combat in Blightstone abandons grid-based movement in favor of open positioning, allowing terrain, objects, enemies, and even weather to influence tactical decisions. Fire can spread through grass, electricity can chain through water, and shifting conditions such as fog, rain, and wind can dramatically change the flow of battle. Elemental reactions and status effects play a central role, rewarding careful planning and adaptation.
As progression unfolds, new heroes can be recruited across multiple classes, including Brawler, Hunter, Arcanist, Druid, and Priest, each offering distinct abilities and synergies. Skills, equipment, and crystal upgrades persist across runs, encouraging experimentation while reinforcing the theme that failure is a necessary step toward survival.
Blightstone launches into Early Access at a price of $15.99 USD / €12.99 EUR, with a 20 percent discount available during the first two weeks. A playable demo is already available on Steam ahead of the Early Access release.
