Via a new CGI cinematic and gameplay trailer, Pathea Games has announced The God Slayer, a new open-world steampunk fantasy RPG in development for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox platforms. Backed by Sony Interactive Entertainment’s China Hero Project, the title comes from the studio behind My Time at Sandrock and My Time at Portia.

Set in an Eastern-inspired steampunk metropolis ruled by godlike beings known as Celestials, The God Slayer follows Cheng—an Elemancer driven by vengeance after the Celestials conquered the strongest human kingdom in a single night, an event remembered as the God Fall. Using elemental powers that channel qi energy through martial artistry, players rise against their creators and attempt to dethrone the gods.
The 40-hour campaign combines exploration, cinematic storytelling, and flexible mission design. Players can confront challenges head-on, create environmental diversions with elemental abilities, bribe guards, or discover alternate routes to complete objectives. The city of Zhou serves as the game’s central hub—an industrial metropolis undergoing rapid technological change, blending airships, steamboats, monorails, and class-divided districts.
Key features include a customizable elemental combat system based on fire, water, earth, metal, and wood; a reactive steampunk world shaped by social inequality and technological progress; and branching mission paths that accommodate stealth, power, or persuasion-driven approaches.
