Indie studio Friday Sundae has released the first public demo for its spooky musical mystery adventure There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, now available on Steam. Following its breakout showing during the June Xbox Showcase, the game offers a blend of horror, humor, renovation mechanics, and musical storytelling, giving players an early look at its genre-bending approach ahead of its 2026 launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, with Xbox Game Pass confirmed for day one.

The demo introduces players to the crumbling English hotel they will inherit in the full game, setting the stage for a narrative that splits itself between lighthearted renovation by day and supernatural encounters by night. As they repair rooms and restore the Grand’s fading charm, players meet an eclectic cast—including a sardonic cat and a talkative power tool—each tied to a character-driven musical number that spans styles from spooky ska to wartime jazz and skater punk.
Once darkness falls, the tone shifts into playful horror, transforming ordinary renovation tools into ghost-busting weapons. A vacuum becomes a spirit-sucking cannon, a paint sprayer reveals invisible foes, and a repurposed bookcase launcher can flatten lurking specters. As the hotel slowly returns to life, players will uncover deeper mysteries with creeping, Lovecraft-inspired undertones that tighten their grip with every passing night.
The full version of There Are No Ghosts at the Grand is planned for release in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with additional platforms to be announced.
