ARMATUS, a new roguelite third-person shooter from publisher Fictions and developer Counterplay Games, is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in 2026. Designed as a fusion of modern firearms, supernatural abilities, and melee combat, the game aims to deliver fast, hyperkinetic action across constantly shifting runs.

Set in the demon-ravaged ruins of Paris, ARMATUS casts players as the final supernatural warrior of an ancient order. With celestial powers and an arsenal of powerful weapons, players search for the Sunless Gate, a lost passage believed to be humanity’s last chance at salvation. As Paris collapses into otherworldly environments, increasingly grotesque demons challenge players in escalating encounters.
Built around a “fight, die, repeat” structure, each run allows players to wield scythes, firearms, and evolving celestial abilities that reshape their combat approach. Death resets the run but deepens knowledge, enabling further progress and mastery. From the outset, players are highly capable, but progression unlocks devastating combinations—from shotguns and SMGs to holy fire and time-bending powers—that can annihilate even the strongest horrors lurking along the Scoured Path.
