Astroneer, System Era Softworks’ interplanetary exploration and base-building game, will launch for PlayStation 5 on November 20. Existing PlayStation 4 owners will receive the upgrade at no additional cost, giving them access to native 4K resolution, 60 frames per second performance, and DualSense-specific features.

Originally debuting via Steam Early Access on PC in 2016, Astroneer has expanded across multiple platforms over the years, bringing its deformable planets, creative building systems, and cooperative exploration to a growing audience. The PlayStation 5 version maintains the full experience, allowing players to shape terrain, construct bases, and traverse a handcrafted solar system of seven fully deformable planets.
Players can venture solo or team up in four-player online co-op, collaborating on large-scale industrial setups or experimenting freely in its sandbox-style environment. With its upgrade to current hardware, the PS5 release offers the most refined version of Astroneer yet.
