Pocketpair Publishing and developer Frontside 180 Studio have announced that the 2D roguelike action game Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse will launch on March 5, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game will be priced at $16.99/£13.99/€13.99/¥1,980. A bundle including the official soundtrack will also be available for $20/£15.49/€16.99/¥2,384. PlayStation Plus users can receive a 10% discount when pre-ordering through the PlayStation Store.

In a statement from producer and director Yasuomi Sakai, Frontside 180 Studio described the project as a game about “challenge and growth,” blending the tension of dungeon crawling with the calm rhythm of rebuilding your home base. Sakai highlighted the “Possession System,” where players use a cursed hat to steal enemy powers, unlocking new combat abilities, puzzles, and exploration routes. Online multiplayer for up to four players will also be supported, allowing friends to share the roguelike adventure together.
Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse combines Metroidvania exploration with roguelite progression. Players battle through auto-generated dungeons filled with traps, puzzles, and powerful bosses while collecting materials to rebuild a ruined village. Between runs, they can construct new facilities, cultivate crops, and craft potions to strengthen their witch for the next descent. The game’s Japanese hand-drawn animation style and richly painted backdrops create the look of a living picture book. Each run offers a fresh mix of magic, items, and traits, ensuring that no two adventures play the same.
