The Game Bakers have delayed their upcoming survival climbing adventure Cairn from its previously scheduled November 5 release date to Q1 2026. The game will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

According to the studio, the delay was made to ensure the launch version delivers the unforgettable experience players expect after trying the demo. While the game is already content complete, the additional development time will be spent on optimization, debugging, and final polish. Creative director Emeric Thoa emphasized that after five years of development, rushing the release would undermine their goal of creating a memorable and lasting experience.
In the meantime, players can look forward to a new feature coming to the demo. Starting October 13, a limited-time “Ghost” update will allow climbers to see the ghosts of other players ascending alongside them. The demo has already been played by more than 600,000 players across PlayStation 5 and PC, highlighting the strong anticipation for the final release.
