Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions have released the launch trailer for Ghost of Yōtei, ahead of the game’s release for PlayStation 5 on October 2.

Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone action adventure set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Players take on the role of Atsu, a hardened mercenary scarred by the murder of her family. Her journey leads her across northern Japan’s harsh Ezo region in the 17th century, where she must hunt down six deadly outlaws. Along the way, Atsu will forge unexpected alliances and wrestle with whether her path is one of vengeance or redemption.
The launch trailer showcases Atsu’s versatile combat toolkit, including katana duels, precision bow attacks, and agile traversal with the grappling hook. These abilities are enhanced on PlayStation 5 through DualSense controller features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, alongside fast load times, immersive 3D audio, and richly detailed visuals that bring feudal Japan’s rugged landscapes to life.
Ghost of Yōtei is due out for PlayStation 5 on October 2.
