DaRmaZat Paradox Interactive has released Shadows of the Shroud, the latest expansion for its sci-fi grand strategy game Stellaris. Developed in collaboration with Abrakam, the expansion is available now on PC via Steam for $19.99/€19.99/£16.75, and is also included at no extra cost in the Season 09 Expansion Pass.
Shadows of the Shroud introduces new psionic traditions, three origins, and six civics, while reworking familiar features such as the Psionic Ascension path and the End of the Cycle. Players will guide their civilization into a deeper relationship with the Shroud, interacting with mysterious Patrons and unlocking unique benefits through a new attunement system.
Alongside new mechanics, the expansion adds psionic auras that manifest across space, a Shroud Panel for tracking connections to the unseen realm, and new story events that test the limits of spiritual ambition. The result is a darker, more unpredictable path to galactic power that challenges empires to balance transcendence with survival.
