Bloober Team has released a new trailer for its third-person survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, titled “A New Breed of Horror.” The game is set to release on September 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live, the cinematic trailer set the tone with a surreal opening sequence viewed through the eyes of a cat, turning the familiar into something unsettling. The video then shifted to showcase The Traveler, the central figure of the story, stepping from shadow into the world of New Dawn. In a striking moment of spectacle, a live performer appeared on stage in full cosplay as The Traveler, blurring the line between fiction and reality.
Cronos: The New Dawn is described as an original survival horror experience rooted in a powerful narrative. The story unfolds in New Dawn, an abstract reimagining of Kraków’s Nowa Huta district. Told across two parallel timelines—a post-apocalyptic future and the industrial 1980s—the setting combines retro realism with dystopian science fiction to create an unsettling, immersive atmosphere.
The trailer further teased the game’s dark tone, contrasting quiet moments of exploration with violent encounters against The Orphans, horrifying creatures that inhabit the ruins. Accompanied by This Mortal Coil’s haunting track “Sixteen Days / Gathering Dust,” the footage painted a vivid picture of the tension and psychological depth awaiting players.
