Toxic Crusaders Premieres New Gameplay Trailer Showcasing Tromaville Beat ‘Em Up Action
Simone Toxic Crusaders, the four-player side-scrolling beat ’em up based on the classic 1991 Saturday morning cartoon, released a new gameplay trailer highlighting its retro brawler combat and Troma Cinematic Universe cameos.
Developed and published by Retroware, Toxic Crusaders pits Toxie and his mutated squad against Dr. Killemoff and the Smogulan Empire to defend Tromaville from global pollution.
Featuring pixel-art visuals, comic book cutscenes voiced by TeamFourStar, and a roster of seven playable characters – including debut additions Yvonne and Toxie’s mom, Mrs. Junko – players battle through seven stages filled with Radiation Rangers and zombie chickens using local four-player co-op.
Toxic Crusaders is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
