Maboroshi Artworks and Entalto Publishing have announced SOMBRAS: Negative Frames, a first-person light horror narrative game focused on photography. The project comes from the creator of Last Time I Saw You. An announcement trailer has also been released alongside the reveal.

In SOMBRAS, you take on the role of Shiomi Alterio, a Japanese-Spanish photography student who becomes trapped in a dark version of her 2000s-era Japanese hometown. Throughout the game, you will explore distorted environments, photograph unusual events, survive supernatural encounters, and uncover fragments of Shiomi’s psyche.
According to the developers, the game explores themes including youth, mixed identity, art, and family conflict. Photography mechanics will allow you to take and develop pictures, upgrade your camera, and discover hidden areas.
SOMBRAS: Negative Frames is scheduled to launch in Q4 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
