Publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer ZeniMax Online Studios have launched Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk for The Elder Scrolls Online, now available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Marking the beginning of a new seasonal structure for the long-running MMORPG, ESO Seasons will run for approximately 90 days, each introducing themed content, gameplay updates, and rewards—all included at no additional cost for existing players. Season Zero introduces a limited-time Event Zone experience, The Night Market, launching April 29 and running through June 17. Set in the Oblivion realm of Fargrave, players can explore a new area, align with one of three factions, and take on PvE challenges to earn rewards, including the free player home “Night’s Den”.
The update also delivers a major class refresh for the Dragonknight, alongside more than 20 quality-of-life improvements. These include faster mount training, easier skill respec options via the UI, expanded inventory capacity, and increased furnishing limits—part of a broader initiative to streamline progression and reduce grind.
Looking ahead, Season Zero will introduce the long-awaited Challenge difficulty system on June 8. This optional feature adds four scalable difficulty levels to overland content, offering increased rewards for players seeking tougher encounters. PvP also sees continued iteration with the new Veterancy progression system and further testing of the Vengeance Cyrodiil campaign. A key addition is Tamriel Tomes, a new seasonal reward system that merges Endeavors and Daily Login rewards into a unified progression track. Players can unlock currency, consumables, and collectibles through free and premium tiers throughout each season.
Additionally, PlayStation Plus members have until April 6 to claim the Gold Road Collection, which includes the base game, the 2024 Gold Road chapter, and all previous expansions, along with access to classes such as Warden, Necromancer, and Arcanist. More information is available on the official website.
