Wyldheart, a rustic fantasy co-op action RPG inspired by classic tabletop experiences, has been unveiled for PC Early Access via Steam and Epic Games Store, with a release window yet to be confirmed.

Developed by Sweden-based Wayfinder Studios, the project is led by industry veterans with backgrounds at EA DICE, Embark Studios, and Mojang Studios. The game is built around cooperative storytelling, allowing up to four participants to explore a handcrafted fantasy world together, or venture out solo while still progressing through interconnected campaigns.
Set in the fallen Kingdom of Caerwyn, the Wyldheart experience focuses on emergent narratives rather than predetermined heroism. Instead of playing as destined champions, each participant takes on the role of an unknown adventurer, shaping their own path through exploration, rumors, and discoveries scattered across a living world. Villages operate with their own routines, and quests are uncovered organically rather than handed out directly.
Character progression in Wyldheart is designed with flexibility in mind, featuring a classless system that lets players distribute skill points across multiple disciplines such as combat, survival, and magic. A wide selection of backgrounds and playable archetypes adds further customization, encouraging varied builds and playstyles across different campaigns.
Each adventure arc is structured to fit into manageable sessions, with story-driven campaigns lasting around ten hours and additional optional content extending playtime. Cooperative play is supported through drop-in and drop-out functionality, along with shared progression systems that ensure continuity even when group members are offline.
Wyldheart also emphasizes preparation and survival elements, from gathering resources and crafting equipment to cooking meals that support the party’s journey. These systems tie into the broader goal of recreating the feel of a tabletop session within a digital RPG framework.
A Kickstarter campaign is underway to support development, as the studio continues to refine its blend of cooperative gameplay and narrative-driven exploration.
