Super Meat Boy 3D, the brutal precision platformer and long-running indie franchise’s first leap into full 3D, launches March 31 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store & Microsoft Store, with availability on Game Pass from day one.

This new entry reimagines the series’ signature fast-paced and punishing gameplay in a three-dimensional space, while maintaining the tight controls and unforgiving level design that defined earlier installments. The story once again follows the iconic cube of meat as he sets out to rescue his bandage-made girlfriend from the infamous fetus in a tuxedo jar, delivering a familiar yet freshly presented premise.
Level design remains centered on high-stakes precision, with hazards such as spinning saws, collapsing environments, and fire-laden sections demanding constant focus and quick reflexes. Death is frequent and expected, reinforcing the trial-and-error rhythm that has long been a core part of the experience.
Boss encounters and hidden elements are also part of the package, alongside optional challenges like the notoriously difficult Dark World stages, which push mechanical mastery even further. The transition to 3D adds spatial complexity to navigation and timing, offering a different perspective on the franchise’s established formula without abandoning its roots.
