The cooperative action game Horizon Hunters Gathering has been announced for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam by publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Guerrilla Games. While a release date has not yet been confirmed, players can already register for upcoming playtests through the PlayStation Beta Program.

Set within the Horizon universe, Horizon Hunters Gathering places players in the role of elite Hunters standing as humanity’s last line of defense against increasingly deadly machines. The game is built around three-player cooperative action, allowing squads to team up with friends or AI-controlled allies to take on high-intensity missions that demand coordination, tactical positioning, and mastery of distinct combat roles.
Players can choose from a roster of Hunters, each defined by unique weapons, abilities, and playstyles, encouraging experimentation and teamwork. Combat encounters focus on battling lethal machines equipped with varied attack patterns and elemental properties, pushing teams to adapt their strategies across diverse environments inspired by the world of Horizon.
Beyond individual missions, Horizon Hunters Gathering is designed as an ongoing adventure with a story-driven campaign that unfolds over time. As the conflict with the machines escalates, players will uncover new challenges and narrative threads, reinforcing the sense of a persistent hunt rather than a one-off experience. Guerrilla Games has confirmed that playtest sign-ups are now open, offering an early opportunity to step into this new cooperative chapter of the Horizon franchise.
