Story-driven 2D action RPG ADA: Tainted Soil has received a brand-new demo, giving players an early look at the opening chapter of the game ahead of its upcoming release for PC via Steam. Developed by LaFamilia and Eneida Games, and published by Eneida Games alongside NexraGames, the demo is now available to download and focuses on introducing the game’s core systems and narrative foundation.

The newly released demo covers the beginning of Ada’s journey, starting with her search for her missing dog Pixel and leading into her first encounters with the ominous Black Ink, hostile cultists, and an introductory boss fight against the Crystall’s Collector. This early slice is designed to familiarize players with the game’s fast-paced combat, alchemy mechanics, and exploration-driven structure, while offering a first taste of the world’s tone and challenges. While not all abilities, spells, and runes are available yet, the demo provides a representative snapshot of how the full experience is shaping up.
Combat and enemy behavior are still actively being refined, with balance adjustments ongoing across progression pacing, encounters, and skill distribution. As a result, players may encounter rough edges or bugs, which the developers are actively addressing as feedback comes in. Community input is a key part of this phase, with the demo serving as an opportunity to help shape the final experience ahead of launch in the coming months.
ADA: Tainted Soil is a single-player, story-driven top-down action RPG built around fluid combat, character progression, and a handcrafted pixel-art world. Players combine weapons, skills, spells, and alchemy to adapt to constantly shifting dangers across a vast and unforgiving landscape. Exploration is nonlinear, with secrets scattered across carefully designed zones, dynamic day and night cycles, and enemies that demand observation, positioning, and timely dodging rather than brute force.
Alchemy plays a central role throughout the adventure, allowing players to brew potions that heal, enhance abilities, or act as offensive tools capable of damaging enemies or interacting with the environment. Narrative depth is woven into exploration through characters, quests, environmental storytelling, and fragmented memories that reveal the land’s troubled past. With its emphasis on atmosphere, challenge, and player choice, the demo offers an early look at a world that is still evolving, but already rich in identity.
