Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Weappy have announced that a demo for hand-drawn side-scrolling platformer The Eternal Life of Goldman will launch for PC via Steam in February as part of Steam Next Fest: February 2026 Edition. The demo will allow players to experience roughly the first 90 minutes of the game ahead of its full release later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Set across a sprawling Archipelago inspired by ancient myths and fairy tales, The Eternal Life of Goldman presents a striking contrast between vibrant visuals and a somber, often tragic tone. Players arrive on the islands with a singular and unsettling objective: to hunt down and kill a mysterious Deity spoken of in whispers, but never truly seen. As the journey unfolds, the Archipelago reveals its many secrets through eccentric inhabitants, haunting locations, and a narrative that gradually exposes the weight of past events.
Gameplay blends precision platforming with exploration, encouraging experimentation rather than rigid trial-and-error memorization. Goldman’s cane can be upgraded with new components that unlock abilities, opening up hidden paths and enabling encounters with increasingly strange and formidable creatures. The game emphasizes constant discovery, ensuring that progress feels purposeful without unnecessary backtracking or downtime.
Visually, The Eternal Life of Goldman stands out through its painstakingly hand-drawn art, created using classic frame-by-frame animation techniques. Every environment, character, and visual effect is uniquely crafted, evoking the sense of wonder once associated with classic 16-bit platformers while pushing the aesthetic to modern standards. This dedication to detail supports a layered narrative that balances emotional depth with momentum, delivering a platforming adventure designed to surprise, challenge, and resonate.
